 125th Anniversary News

1885    Preaching station started at Downfield Village Hall, in the care of Ryehill Kirk Session                          2010 Morning Service at former village hall, followed by buffet lunch and exhibition                            

1886    Changed status to congregation, allowing minister to be called, subject to funding                            2011   Evening Service and buffet for congregational family and friends

1887    Downfield United Presbyterian Church allowed to elect Elders                                                          2012  Morning Elder-led service, coordinated by the Session Clerk           

1888    Congregation voted to raise funds for a purpose built church                                                         2013      Fundraising to pay for re-plastering of church sanctuary                                                         

1889    Plot purchased, foundation laid and new church building opened                                                2014         Morning Service with the GA Moderator followed by buffet lunch

We started with a plan of improvements to our church building, finances, faith and outllok - as you will see in the attached flyer here. Many things have moved on - and a new flyer has been produced and will be added shortly.
