They have a lot of fun in this Church... said Dundee Presbytery

Adult Study Group

Cartoon of men laughing and readingWe meet on alternate Mondays from 7:00-8.30pm, from September to May. If you fancy coming along for a taster from September 2010, simply complete the contact us form, and we'll let you know the what, where and when.

The group is very friendly and informal; the first 30 minutes is given over to tea, coffee (yummy biscuits too) and chatting, with the group leader responsible for moving us on to the evening's topic at approx 7:30pm.

Recent themes have included Hebrews (one of the New Testament books), the "I am" sayings of Jesus, and the Nooma DVDs by Rob Bell. Last year we sampled a few Christian Outreach Courses, such as Alpha, Christianity Explored and The Y Course.

We try to address issues of both life and faith - often with more questions than answers, and usually going off at strange tangents. We respect each other's opnions (even if we don't always agree) and know that we are always learning.

Meetings resume on Monday, 13th September and will continue fortnightly until Monday, 22nd November.

Peter may have been the first one out the boat, but Jesus' invitation to walk on water is for us all.  "If You Want to Walk on Water, You've Got to Get Out of the Boat" deals with Christ's call to greater faith, the possibility of power-filled deeds, and a new way of knowing him.

Through sessions that include video clips and group discussions, participants will discover how to discern God's call, overcome fear, risk faith, manage failure, and trust God.
