August Dog Blog

 3rd August 2009
Well I'm back from my holidays with my gran and ready to start the new term.  Missy and I had a lovely time staying with our gran and our behaviour throughout was impeccable.  Well that is apart from my slight argument with a three legged dog.  Honestly it was the other dog that started it...I was only defending myself!  My gran did say that it had been a bit of an angry dog on walks before so I suppose you could say that it met its match, but I am still not proud of myself.  Missi says she feels ashamed to call me her big sister but I guess you can't please everyone!  She is by no means perfect herself.  Well I better sign off for now as I have the rest of the website to update and as my mum has a plaster on her hand she is not working to the speed I expect...so I guess I will have to take over and rescue the situation, again!

Well have I been busy or what!  I know, I know you have heard it all before but really this time I was busy as I had to get things ready for the Kirkton Festival that was held last Sunday.  If you were there you would have seen the results of all my hard work.  I made about 150 Downfield South keyrings, bookmarks and the artwork for a 2m banner.  So you see why I am currently resting.  My sister Missy is very happy at the moment as she has just adopted a cuddly toy Shrek.  She is so besotted with it she is thinking of changing her name to Fiona.  She thinks Shrek is the most beautiful baby that she has looked after so far.  Her past babies have ranged from dirty socks to a toy duck given to her by her gran.  Unfortunately she has not looked after these babies very well and the duck is out in the back garden looking a bit flat.  Missy said that it wasn't her fault that the lawnmower ran over it.  She promises that she will never let Shrek outside and more importantly never let me get a hold of it.  Honestly I am only trying to be nice to them and playfully nip them, it's not my fault of all the stuffing comes out.  I think that I better get my head down now for a little sleep as I am going to be up late tonight to watch the meteor shower.  I think it is supposed to be happening at about 9 - 11pm so lets hope the clouds have all vanished.BFN  Paw Print

Will it's Monday again so a week of work for me starts again.  I had a relaxing weekend apart from a one and a half hour traffic jam on Saturday as we made our way down to Glasgow.  By the time we got there it was nearly time to come home again.  The reason for the jam was that they were taking a bridge down over the road near Cumbernauld.  I hope that they have finished it by today as I hate to think what the traffic will be like during the week.  We even heard on the radio that they had to delay the timings of the kick-off of some of the Glasgow football matches as some of the fans were caught up in the queue.  I am a bit tired today actually as I was up late last night watching the Andrew Murray match, well done to him and also watching the golf.  Tiger didn't win this time, perhaps I need to phone him and see if he needs more coaching from me.

Well that's about it for now, I will add another blog entry when I have more news.  For the moment I am off to the beach walk between Broughty Ferry and Monifeith.

I tell you I don't know where the time goes these days.  Summer is nearly over and it's still raining!!.  I am not very impressed.  My mum and dad were so fed up with the weather that on two occasions they looked at the weather forecast on the news and decided to head to the only two places in the country that appeared to be having good weather.  The first trip they made was to Cromarty, on the Black Isle.  On this trip Missy and I went with them and we had a brilliant time.  The car journey was a bit long...4 hours to be exact, but once we got there it was all worthwhile.  Cromarty was its usual beautiful self and my mum and dad spent some hours revisiting the sites that they had not seen for quite a few years.  (My dad holidayed there every year as a boy as his mum's family come from the Black Isle).  The weather everywhere else in Scotland seemed to be miserable but in Cromarty it was calm, dry and sunny.  The next place my mum and dad went, this time without us, was Norfolk.  Again this seemed to be the only place in the the UK where summer was happening.  They stayed with friends and picked up a large exhibition board for the church.  The sun was out and they told me that they even had a fish supper on the beach...now I know why I wasn't invited.  I'm not sure where they will be heading to next in search of the elusive sun.  Watch this space is all I can say.
