November Dog Blog

2nd November 2009
I start my blog of today with, I suspect  a common compaint...bathroom scales that do not seem to work!  I have been on my Christmas diet now for what seems like months and the reading on my scales does not appear to be moving in the right direction...down that is.  I have tried standing on them with 3 legs, leaning back and even jumping up and down but they still seem to display a rather high reading.  I have even tried switching the unit of measurement to kilograms but that was even more scary.  I just can't understand it so it must be the scales that are not working.  I have been really careful with what I am eating and anything that I do eat I eat really fast so that the calories have no time to get onto my hips?( My mum said that last idea does not work and she should know!)  but still do not apear to be losing any weight.  Oh well I will just need to keep trying as my sparkly Christmas outfit is waiting.  I hope that you all had a lovely Halloween.  Missy and I did not do anything much this year.  Missy does not need a mask as her face is scary enough on its own...just joking she has a lovely face really.  We did have 1 group of guisers who came to our door and it was nice to hear them saying "May we have our Halloween" instead of "Trick or Treat"...sooooooooo American.  I suspect that we were guising in Scotland long before Trick or Treat US style started if fact my mum says the best outfit that she ever wore was a milkmaids outfit with two buckets on the end of a pole.  She said that when she came home both buckets were full and she did not have to buy any sweets for weeks.  Maybe I should have gone out after all????  Well thats about it for now I better get my gym kit on and step on to the cross trainer.  Don't worry too much about me I will put Bargain Hunt on the TV to watch at the same time so I will be fine.

Another day of rain...what more can I say!  I am slowly growing fins and gills.  I am sorry it has been so long since my last blog but the excuse is the same...I have been run off my feet.  The church has a Frost Fayre coming up on the 22nd December and it has been a case of all hands to the pump.  So far I have made two of the games, Tug the Tinsel and Snowball Scavenge, and although I say so myself they are looking super.  I am now onto planning Santa's Grotto and generally decorating the hall to look frosty and festive.  I think it it going to look amazing and I'm sure Santa will love his temporary home for 1 night.  I know he will be busy as it is so near Christmas but he has assured me that his elves will manage until he gets back.  Well I will sign off for now but I will keep you updated on the Frost Fayre and I would love to see you there if you can manage.
